It took four years however, before the committee published the results of their findings. They proposed to establish a coordinating bureau. However, substantial cuts in the budgets of the universities and lack of additional governmental funding caused considerable delay. Actually the bureau was never established. Subsequent further reductions of university library budgets strengthened the need for CCCD furthermore. For that reason the Dutch Standing Committee on co-operation between the Royal Library, the university libraries and the library of the Academy of Science installed a new committee in 1983.
