Martin Žnideršič, Filozofska fakulteta Univerze v Ljubljani, O d d e l ek za bibliotekarstvo UDK 006(100):347.78:655.5:681,3 Povzetek Hiter razvoj informacijske tehnologije v zadnjih letih je prinesel s sabo tudi problem varovanja avtorskih pravic pri uporabi avtorskih del na elektronskih medijih. Informacijski in pravni strokovnjaki so se s tem problemom že več let intenzivno ukvarjali in rezultat je novi sistem za označevanje avtorsko pravno zaščitenih del na Internetu - DOI (Digital Object Identifier), oznaka digitalnih avtorskih del vseh vrst. Sistem so razvili v ZDA. Ob predstavitvi sistema na knjižnem sejmu v Frankfurtu v oktobru 1997 je bilo z DOI označenih že okrog 250000 avtorskih del. Sistem je univerzalen in ponuja možnosti vključitve sed anjih standardnih oznak (ISBN, ISSN, SICI). Ker ostane oznaka DOI "prilepljena" na avtorsko delo za vedno, bo možna identifikacija nosilca avtorske pravice v vsakem trenutku. DOI predstavlja infrastrukturni sistemza trgovanje in uporabo avtorsko pravno zaščitenih del preko Interneta v tretjem tisočletju. UDC 006(100):347.78:655.5:681.3 Summary Rapid development of information technology in recent years has brought over also the problem of the protection of author's rights related to copyrighted works on electronic media. Information and law specialists were intensively vvorking on this problem for several years and the result has been a new system of labelling copyrighted works on the Internet, called DOI (Digitial Object Identifier). The system was developed in the United States. At the time of the presenta tion of DOI at the Bookfair in Frankfurt, 250.000 author works were labelled with DOI. The system is universal and enables the inclusion of the present standard identifiers (ISBN, ISSN, SICI). The fact that DOI identifier stays "glued on" forever, makes the identification of the carrier of copyright possible at any moment.
