ELEKTRONSKI RAČUNALNIK V KNJIŽNIČNI INFORMATIKI Franček Majcen bibliotekar, Knjižnica Višje tehniške šole, Maribor UDK 025.5:681.3 MAJCEN Franček: Elektronski računalnik v knjižnični infor­ matiki, Knjižnica, Ljubljana 1972, let. 16, št. 1/4 Tričlanski raziskovalni team je preučil možnosti za aplikacijo računalnika IBM 1130 v informacijski dejavnosti knjižnice Višje teh­ niške šole v Mariboru. V ta namen je bilo za računalniško obdelavo treba pripraviti avtorski katalog, UDK in lastni sistem indeksiranja, izdelati kode in izoblikovati ustrezne programe in podprograme v fortranskem jeziku. Rezultati raziskave, med katero je bila posebna pozornost posvečena tehnološkim in organizacijskim aspektom ter vprašanju storilnosti, kažejo, da je računalnik takšnega profila mo­ goče koristno uporabljati v knjižnični informatiki, zlasti pri izdaja­ nju seznamov in biltenov, kar ustrezno dviga učinkovitost posebno v manjših in srednjih strokovnih ter znanstvenih knjižnicah. For computer processing it was therefore necessary to prepare the au­ thors’ catalogue, the Universal Decimal Classification, and the inter­ nal system of indexing; it was necessary to work out codes and to prepare appropriate programmes and subprogrammes in fortran. The results of the research, in the course of which special attention has been paid to technological and organizational aspects and to the problem of effectiveness, show that a computing machine of such a profile can be profitably used in library information service, par­ ticularly in editing lists and bulletins and that in this way it can significantly increase the effectiveness, especially in smaller and medium-sized special and scientific libraries.
