Vlagatelji, večinoma delavci z majhnimi prihranki, so izgubili milijone dolarjev v skupni vsoti. Ti bančni krahi so naravna posledica krite. Delavci, ki so brez dela, jemljejo vloge, ki jih potrebujejo. Do dsnes nI še nihče iznašel takega stroja. Many people do not know that if you vote for a socialist candidate, you vote not for the man, but for the ideals for which this man stands. A socialist candidate stands for a New Order of Society. He stands for justice. All the candidates of the Socialist Party who have been sent to Congress or to State Legislatures have something to show for their tenure <>f office. Here in Pennsylvania we sent st one time Jamee Maurer \o the State Legislature. He st once became the center of agitation for the Workmen's Com-pensation Law. It Was he who started it. Moat people, and aad it is, moat workers read the capitalist press. The capitaliat prees has always told lies about aoclalists and socialistic achievements. Just now, few people know that the socialists have elected two of their men to the State Legislature of this state. Why did the press conceal this fact? It is becsuse these two socialists already have prepared bills for Unemployment-Insurance, OkUAge-tPonsions, strict Child-Labor Larws, and other measurea in the interest of the people. The capitalist press has remsined silent because their owners—«11 the capitalist papers sre owned by rich people — are against these measures which Would help the worker. For if the worker would get more, they would get less. A dollar is a dollar, and if you take 00c, I can only take 40. The country has a certain amount of wealth, and if the workers get more, the capitalists will have less, and they will not stand for thia. They want aa much as they can get. In the past few weeks I have seen much of Pennsylvania. I have seen people digging in garbage cans for food in Pittsburgh; I have seen miners working for 92.60 a day—and only three days a week—in dear-field, and other Central Pennsylvania towns. Why til it that these miners do not get more? It Is because the owners want more for themselves. Only this way, by taking it out of the miners, and steel workers, could the Mellon f«mily in Pittsburgh afford to spend over a million dollars for one wedding. And the Mellons are good republicans. I Would like to ask here what the difference between republicans and democrats is? Will someone please tell me why Samuel Insult in Chicago contribute to both republican and democratic campaigns? Why h« wants to be sure that whoever gets in it is "his man." And 8km fatsull controlls all the power companies In the Mlddlcwest. Just look around a little, and you will see how the big "fellows" belong to either republican or democratic party. They do not Join the socialist party. Why? It has often been said that things hsve always been like thin, and therefor must always be like this. If year backyard has al#efe been filthy, does this mean that you shall never clean It? If republican and democrats politicians have always been corrupt, does this mean that there is no use in trying to change it? Here is Luserne County, the Commissioners hsve been indicted, sentenced to jail for misdemeanor, misappropriation of funds, etc., yet they are still the County Commissioners. "Good citisens." Here in Kansas, as in other vicinities, ths senior members were a bit skeptical about the wisdom of this new movement, but the Youth has proved hie ability and he hat now mo more ardent supporter and bootter than a senior member. , The Kansas Federation of SNPJ at its last meeting offered a cash prize to the English-speaking lodge in Kansas that obtains ths most new members in this pampaign. Ths Young SNPJ lodges in our fraternal order deserve credit for tip enthusiastic efforts they have put forth to accomplishes much as thsy hats in placing their individual lodge on the map, which in turn reflects pack on our whole organization.
