134 UDK 929.52Stres 1.04 Strokovni članek Prejeto: 8. 5. 2018 Gvido Stres* Učitelji in učiteljice Stres na Goriškem in Koroškem – kronike učiteljskih družin Stres na Goriškem, Koroškem in v Ljubljani The teachers from the Stres family in the Gorica area and in Carinthia – chronicles of the Stres family teachers in the Gorica area, Carinthia and Ljubljana Izvleček Članek je zapis o življenjski poti treh gene- racij učiteljev in učiteljic Stres iz Goriške od konca šestdesetih let 19. stoletja do začetka sedemdesetih let 20. stoletja. Začetnika rod- bine učiteljev Stresov sta bila Anton Stres iz Sužida pri Kobaridu in Amalija, rojena Schle- gel, iz Šturij pri Ajdovščini, ki sta učiteljevala v Bovcu, Breginju in Sedlu. V njuni družini je bilo od osmih otrok šest učiteljev: sinova Anton in Feliks ter hčerke Fani, Ema Marija, Milena in Stanka, ki so bili narodno zavedni učitelji na šolah na Goriškem in v krajih svoje- ga učiteljevanja dejavni tudi izven šole. Anton (Tonin) je bil eden od začetnikov slovenskega planinstva na soški strani Julijskih Alp ter pisec planinskih člankov. Vera, hči Tonina in Karle Stres, rojene Lunder, se je izobrazila za profesorico pedagogike v Ljubljani, po koncu druge svetovne vojne sta se skupaj z možem Jožetom Kmetcem uveljavila kot pedagoga in surdopedagoga. Družina Alojzije in Feliksa Stresa, ki je bil pred prvo svetovno vojno uči- telj v Temnici in Škrbini na Krasu, je preživela večletno begunstvo na Dolenjskem in se s Fe- liksovo službo učitelja na Lešah pri Prevaljah leta 1921 dokončno preselila na Koroško. V Abstract The article talks about the life of three genera- tions of teachers from the Stres family in the Gorica area from the 1860s to the early 1970s. The first members of the Stres family to be- come teachers were Anton Stres from Sužid near Kobarid and Amalija, nee Schlegel, from Šturije near Ajdovščina, who taught in Bovec, Breginj and Sedlo. Out of the eight children in their family, six were teachers: the sons Anton and Feliks and the daughters Fani, Ema Marija, Milena and Stanka, who were nationally aware teachers in schools around Gorica and also active outside school in the places where they worked. Anton (Tonin) was one of the found- ers of Slovenian mountaineering on the River Soča side of the Julian Alps and the writer of articles on mountaineering. Vera, the daughter of Tonin and Karla Stres, nee Lunder, became a pedagogy professor in Ljubljana and after World War Two she and her husband, Jože Kmetec, became renowned pedagogues and teachers for the deaf.
