But just as the Earth revolves around the Sun, readers too, have always found their ways to books despite of various strict censorship policies and lists of banned literature. The collection presents selected works kept in the National and University Library, which were once included in the papal index of banned books, or in others, mainly imperial censorship lists.</div><div>The works were on display at the exhibition entitled And Yet they Were Read - Banned Books in the Early Modern Age; as part of a research project in 2018, it was prepared by the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU) and NUK.</div></div><div><a href=\"https://www.dlib.si/razstave/libri-prohibiti/\">https://www.dlib.si/razstave/libri-prohibiti/</a></div>"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"<div>Posamezniki in skupnosti, ki so s pisano besedo posredovali svoja spoznanja in ugotovitve, nazore, ideje in vizije drugim, so se v vseh obdobjih srečevali s silami, ki so želele nadzirati, usmerjati in omejevati pretok znanja in idej z zahtevami po preoblikovanju besedil, zaplembami in sežiganjem knjig, v najskrajnejših primerih pa tudi z obsodbami, izgoni in usmrtitvami avtorjev. Toda tako kot se je Zemlja še vedno vrtela okoli Sonca, so tudi bralci kljub obstoju različnih strogih cenzurnih politik in seznamov prepovedane literature vedno našli poti do knjig.&nbsp;</div><div>V zbirki so predstavljena izbrana dela iz Narodne in univerzitetne knjižnice, ki so bila nekdaj uvrščena na papeški indeks prepovedanih knjig ali na različne druge, predvsem cesarske cenzurne sezname.
