In this paper, the proposal for demarcation of ecological regions and sub-regions, which are the basis for defining the proposal regions of provenance, is presented. The borders of ecological regions are transitional or mosaic. For rationalisation of the delimitation of the regions of provenance in the field and easier control of usage, the borders of the regions of provenance are, as much as possible, adapted to the management and administrative borders, which are marked in the field. V prispevku je predstavljen predlog oblikovanja ekoloških regij in podregij, ki so osnova za predlagano razmejitev provenienčnih območij. Meje ekoloških regij so lahko prehodne ali mozaično razporejene. Zaradi lažjega določanja provenienčnih območij na terenu in lažjega nadzora nad sadnjo oziroma setvijo so meje provenienčnih območij čimbolj prilagojene gospodarsko-ureditvenim in administrativnim mejam, ki so po možnosti označene na terenu.
