In Celje the former process is used. The characteristics of the products are influenced by the conditions in all stages of the technological process ant to a large extend by the calcination of the titanium gel. Understanding of the later process is important for the production control as well as in the case that different ?$TiO_2$? materials are desired. Titanium gels were taken from the industrial process and prepared in the laboratory. Samples were taken from the Moore filters, filter press and under the laboratory conditions they were dried also in vacuum at 25°C or by additional pressing and drying at 40 and 105°C. The samples were characterised by thermal analysis, SEM and XRD. The samples obtained by drying in vacuum exhibit larger particles and higher sintering. Results reveal that the characteristics of the end products can be influenced by the modifications in the drying stage</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Največ titanovega(IV) oksida se porabi kot pigment, uporablja pa se tudi za pripravo zahtevnejše keramike, kot katalizaator v elektronski industriji idr. ?$TiO_2$? se pripravlja po sulfatnem ali kloridnem postopku. V Celju uporabljajo sulfatni postopek. Na karakteristike produkta vplivajo vse stopnje tehnološke predelave, še posebej kalcinacija titanovega gela. Poznavanje procesa je pomembno za vodenje proizvodnje, kot tudi če bi s termično obdelavo želeli pripraviti drugačne ?$TiO_2$?-materiale. Titanove gele smo zajeli v proizvodnji in jih pripravili v laborataoriju. Vzorce smo vzeli iz Moorejevih filtrov, filtrne stiskalnice, v laboratoriju pa smo gel sušili še v vakuumu pri 25°C, z dodatnim stiskanjem ter sušenjem v sušilniku pri 40 in 105°C. Vzorce smo karakterizirali s termično analizo, SEM in XRD. Vzorci so začeli izgubljati maso pri 30-70°C, sušenje in kalcinacija pa sta bili končani pri 920-1000°C.
