Da bipreverili morebitne spremembe v kopičenju diatomej na vmesni plasti vodnih usedlin zaradi tam domujočih suspendiranih kultur užitnih klapavic, je bilo opravljenih več raziskav na dveh izbranih postajah v Tržaškem zalivu.
