They develop because of voice misuse,overuse and/or abuse. An otorhinolaryngologist (a phoniatrician - if possible), a c1inical speech and language therapist, and a c1inical psychologist should be involved in the diagnostics of vocal fold nodules. All three professionals also cooperate during their treatment, but the speech and language therapist has the principal role. Surgical treatment is taken into consideration only when voice therapy has been unsuccessful.
