Additionally, weuse the synthesis method to propose a solution.Findings:Analysis by team was recognized as a valuable tool in mitigating mistakesin intelligence analysis. Intelligence analysis is a cognitively intense activity, subjected to cognitive biases and analytical mistakes. Mistakes and biases canbe further exacerbated by the pressures on intelligence analysts stemming fromuncertainty, denial and deceptions, secrecy and the need for timeliness. Becauseof these limitations and challenges, individuals often struggle to recognize theirown mistakes, but are still able to identify them in other people. As a solution tothis, analysis by team is proposed. However, working in groups can lead to riskssuch as groupthink and polarization. For that reason, analytical groups have tobe properly selected, structured and managed.Research Limitations/Implications:Besides the secret nature and, therefore, limited access to information, thereis also limited empirical research on the efficacy of the methods and techniquesused by intelligence analysts.Practical Implications:In the paper, we present a practical solution for mitigating mistakes byintelligence analysis, which can be used by professionals from other fields ofnational security as well as in the business environment.Originality/Value:This paper seeks to present the most viable tool to combat or mitigatemistakes in analytical or investigative work. Analytical findings and conclusionsare meant for national security and law enforcement professionals and decisionmakers. More effective and rigorous analysis can therefore support betterdecision making</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Namen prispevka:V prispevku bomo raziskovali različne vzroke napak v obveščevalni analitikiter predstavili možne rešitve za zmanjšanje teh napak. Omejitve:Poleg tajne narave in s tem omejenega dostopa do informacij obstaja tudiomejeno število ustreznih empiričnih raziskav o učinkovitosti metod in tehnikobveščevalne analitike. Učinkovitejšain natančnejša analiza lahko namreč prispeva k boljšim odločitvam</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:DOC-EIDBKTVI"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:DOC-EIDBKTVI" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-EIDBKTVI/22d35c0b-bf55-45c6-8203-1a39860b59ee/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Mariboru, Fakulteta za varnostne vede</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-EIDBKTVI/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-EIDBKTVI" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
