Their considerable social, political, and economic influence raises pressing questions about the protection of individuals’ fundamental rights, the preservation of competition in digital markets, and the need to strike a balance between the competing interests of various stakeholders. In response to these challenges, the European Union has adopted a legislative package that includes the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act. These landmark regulations introduced important changes, primarily targeting large technology companies, redefining the regulatory framework of the digital environment. A key role in interpreting and applying this new digital framework will fall to the General Court of the EU, which is currently hearing several cases between the European Commission and major technology firms"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V zadnjem desetletju se moč v rokah spletnih velikanov, katerih storitve so postale ključni gradnik sodobne družbe, vse bolj centralizira. Njihova družbena, politična in ekonomska moč postavlja mnogokatera vprašanja v zvezi z varstvom temeljnih pravic posameznikov, zagotavljanjem konkurence na digitalnih trgih ter iskanjem ravnotežja med nasprotujočimi si interesi različnih deležnikov. Evropska unija se je na navedene izzive odzvala s sprejetjem svežnja zakonodajnih ukrepov, ki vključuje Akt o digitalnih storitvah in Akt o digitalnih trgih. Ta uvajata pomembne novosti, ki zadevajo predvsem tehnološke velikane, in tako spreminjata pravila igre v digitalnem svetu.
