It also contributes to efficient walking and reducing the risk of falls. Maintaining balance is achieved by activity of interconnected systems: muscular, sensory, skeletal and central controlling mechanisms. The complexity of balance controlling processes and the many aspects with which we describe balance makes it difficult to determine uniform assessment of the balance tasks intensity. By prescribing balance training only with training frequency, type of training and its duration, the exact outcome cannot be predicted. Among the more promising approaches, with which we could comprehensively assess the intensity of balance tasks or their difficulty is by monitoring the pupil dilation or pupillometry. Pupillometry is an indirect measure of brain functions and a reflection of cognitive processes. Maintaining balance represents a cognitive load that is dependent on the difficulty of the balance task, age and the efficiency of the individual's postural control system. Based on these, pupillometry could gather more indepth information on the involvement of the cognitive processes in performing the balance task. This could provide an objective assessment of the balance tasks difficulty and, consequently, an objective measure of its intensity</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Sposobnost ohranjanja ravnotežja je pomembna za ohranjanje neodvisnega življenja in opravljanja vsakodnevnih dejavnosti. S tem bi lahko pridobili objektivno oceno zahtevnosti ravnotežne naloge in posledično objektivno mero njene intenzivnosti</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:DOC-YRB9FCTK"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:DOC-YRB9FCTK" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-YRB9FCTK/26401d7b-8f63-438d-ac5a-91701d10e582/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Fakulteta za šport</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-YRB9FCTK/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-YRB9FCTK" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
