Furthermore, modes of governance with a long tradition, such as neocorporatism in Slovenia, may continue under the new (hierarchical) representative governance and may even be more in line with citizens' major policy preferences (which in Slovenia means the preservation of the welfare state) than representative governance in spite of the (hyper)use of elections as an accountability mechanism. New modes of EU governance have contributed to the decline of representation and accountability in the national context"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Preliminarne ugotovitve tematske številke prispevajo k sodobni razpravi v literaturi o vladavinah s tem, da kažejo, da stare in nove oblike vladavin tako sobivajo kot tudi stopajo v vzajemne odnose v nekaterih procesih oblikovanja in izvajanja javnih politik. Ob tem se je izkazalo, da se oblike vladavin z dolgo tradicijo (kot npr. neokorporativizem v Sloveniji) ne le nadaljujejo pod novo (hierarhično) predstavniško vladavino, temveč so lahko celo bolj v skladu z glavnimi pričakovanji državljanov (v Sloveniji je to ohranjanje državne blaginje), kot to velja za predstavniško vladavino, in to navkljub (pre)pogosti uporabi volitev kot mehanizma za uveljavljanje odgovornosti politikov.
