No single service setting can meet all mental health needs of the population. Support, supervision, collaboration, information- sharing and education across different levels of care are essential to any system. People with mental disability need to be involved in their own recovery and this must be reinforced at each level of care. Family physicians treat the majority of depressed patients, only one fifth of the patients are referred to the secondary care.
