It has something to contribute to ESD although it was developed independently from education of young people or other methods of adult education. Our experiences point to two issues: firstly, that local tradition is strong, and secondly, that attention to group organisation scheme is very weak in adult education while integration with education of young peopleis completely absent. Interpretation is given in the context of expiry of Decade of ESD. Long-term monitoring of selected cases points to continuous interferences in the development due to external and internal reasons causing that large target groups and content areas remain ignored. Therefore it is not surprising that participation and social cohesiveness are weak and decreasing in Slovenia. We suggest greater indenpendence and financial support to local educational practice based on self-regulation</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Na primeru dveh študijskih krožkov in ene agrarne skupnosti predstavljamo učenje odraslih kot neodkrit in neizrabljen potencial izobraževanja. Za VITR že ima kaj pokazati, čeprav se je razvil neodvisno od izobraževanja mladih in tudi od preostalih oblik učenja odraslih. Izkušnje kažejo: 1. da je domača tradicija močna, a prezrta, 2. da je v izobraževnju odraslih pozornost skupinski organizacijski zasnovi učenja zelo šibka, integracija s šolanjem mladih pa sploh odsotna. Interpretacija je podana v kontekstu iztekanja Desetletja VITR. Dolgoročno spremljanje izbranih primerov izkazuje nenehne motnje razvoja zaradi zunanjih in notranjih razlogov, zaradi katerih ostajajo prezrte velike ciljne skupine in vsebinska področja. Zato ne preseneča, da sta participacija in socialna kohezivnost v Sloveniji šibki in upadajoči.
