This foundational study is revisited and supplemented with recent discoveries in the research on the formation of the Slovene language and its dialects. Logar’s contribution remains a standard reference in the field of Slovene historical linguistics and dialectology and, with appropriate contextualization, still serves as a valuable entry point into the study of Slovene’s internal linguistic (pre)history.
