V članku je opisana KVI (kronična venska insuficienca), bolezen sodobnega časa, in podan pregled diagnostičnih postopkov in kirurške terapije.Pregledane so indikacije za kirurško zdravljenje varikoznih ven. Prikazano je lokalno odstranjevanje varikoznih ven, opisan način podvezanja ustja velike in male safene ter orisana priporočena metoda-delno odstranjevanje velike in male safene z invaginacijsko tehniko. Zaključki. Poseben poudarek je na opisu subfascialnega endoskopskega kirurškega zdravljenja insuficientnih perforantnih ven.
