The Slovenian Geological Transversal also passes through the Gorge. Due to increased interest in fossils and an increase in visitor numbers, 25 years ago a need emerged to prepare the Gorge for public tours, both in terms of directing the visitors and offering them the possibility to view and learn about natural phenomena and to ensure greater safety.
