It is defined by the spatial distribution of hydofacies - sediments formed in characteristic depositional environments and have typical hydrogeological properties. Due to the (in time and space) changing sedimetological conditions, is the distribution of hydrofacies in nature often complex and difficult to define. The difficulty of this proceduremost often limits reliability and consequently applicability of numerical transport models. For the purposes of improvement of reliability of hydrological modelling in the area of alluvial deposits of Ljubljana polje a hydrogeological model was constructed. It is based on the borehole logs, supplemented with geological conceptual information and geostatistical methods, combined with Markov chain models. The model consists of four units -hydrofacies with different volumetric portions (gravel 45 %, silt and clay with gravel 36 %, silt and clay 5 % and conglomerate 14 %). The used approach enables development of a set of equally probable realisations of spatial distribution of hydrofacies that are conditioned to the borehole data and represent geologically plausible image of the heterogeneity of the aquifer</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Heterogenost vodonosnikov je eden ključnih dejavnikov, ki pogojujejo transportne procese v podzemni vodi. Določena je s prostorsko porazdelitvijo hidrofaciesov - sedimentov, ki so nastali v značilnih sedimentacijskih okoljihin imajo tipične hidrogeološke lastnosti. Zaradi v prostoru in času spreminjajočih se sedimentacijskih pogojev, je porazdelitev hidrofaciesov v naravi pogosto kompleksna in težko določljiva. Prav zahtevnost tega postopka najpogosteje omejuje zanesljivost in s tem uporabnost numeričnih transportnih modelov. Za namene izboljšanja zane-sljivosti hidrološkega modeliranja na območju rečnega zasipa Ljubljanskega polja, je izdelan hidrogeološki model, kitemelji na podatkih iz vrtin, dopolnjenih z geološkimi konceptualnimi informacijami in geostatističnih metodah, povezanih z modeli Markovih verig. Model je sestavljen iz štirih enot - hidrofaciesov z različnimi prostorninskimi deleži (Prod 45 %; Melj in glina s prodom 36 %, Melj in glina 5 % in Konglomerat 14 %).
