We then describe how the pandemic has affected the development of competence in the higher education system: indirectly via occupational changes and directly via teaching and learning modes. Particular focus is given to the problem of the transition of the key part of the teaching process to the Internet, changes related to knowledge assessment, problems with international mobility, and limitations on both research and the acquisition of work experience. We assume that in the mid-term period higher education will not strategically address questions about competence development but will instead look for short-term solutions to ensuring that pedagogical processes continue. The literature review leads us to describe the following developmental scenarios of changes in higher education: the 'digitalisation' of higher education, intensive adjustment of higher education programmes to the labour market, implementation of radical changes, business as usual, and the hybrid model"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V članku smo najprej pojasnili vpliv pandemije na poklicne spremembe. V naslednjem koraku smo opisali, kako pandemija vpliva na razvoj kompetenc v visokošolskem sistemu: posredno prek poklicnih sprememb in neposredno prek načinov učenja in poučevanja. Še posebej smo se osredotočili na problematiko selitve večjega dela pedagoškega procesa na splet, na spremembe, povezane s preverjanjem znanja, zaplete okoli mednarodne mobilnosti in na omejitve pri raziskovanju in pridobivanju relevantnih delovnih izkušenj. Pri tem smo predvidevali, da v srednjeročnem obdobju visoko šolstvo pri vprašanjih razvoja kompetenc ne bo reagiralo strateško, temveč bo iskalo kratkoročne rešitve za ohranitev izvedbe pedagoškega procesa.
