The article presents the Fairground in Ljubljana: the site, some more important urbanistic solutions and the architectural and structural features of particular buildings. Th influence of contemporary global architectural and structural achievements is emphasised. The Ljubljana Fairground is an example of modern functionalist architecture. One of the fundamental theoretical starting points of functionalism was that the main elements of architectural expression are the structure and the load-hearing framework or building's skeleton. Special attention is given to achievements in the field of development of mushroom slab structures in Slovenia and worldwide"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Pričujoči članek je nastal kot del raziskave z naslovom Zgradbe slovenskih sejemskih razstavišč: arhitektura in konstrukcija, v kateri so obravnavane zgradbe šestih slovenskih sejemskih razstavišč z arhitekturnega in konstrukcijskega vidika. V članku je predstavljeno Gospodarsko razstavišče v Ljubljani: lokacija, nekatere pomembnejše urbanistične rešitve ter arhitekturne in konstrukcijske značilnosti posameznih objektov. Izpostavljen je vpliv sočasnih svetovnih arhitekturnih in konstrukcijskih dosežkov. Gospodarsko razstavišče je primer moderne funkcionalistične arhitekture. Eno od temeljnih teoretičnih izhodišč funkcionalizma je, da je glavni element arhitektumega izraza konstrukcija oziroma nosilno ogrodje ali skelet objekta.
