From the establishment of the nitrogen surplus in the environment we can indirectly infer to the nitrate pollution of the underground waters. Analyses of the water quality also prove it. As one of the most intensive agricultural areas in Slovenia, Spodnja Savinjska dolina, with its specialised agriculture and stockbreeding, belongs to the regions that, considering the input of nitrogen and its surpluses, are reaching the level of western European countries. All this is also reflected in the quality of underground water"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Nitratno onesnaževanje sodi med najbolj pereča onesnaženja slovenskih podtalnic, po katerem še posebno iztopajo podtalnice severovzhodne Slovenije. Z ugotavljanjem presežkov dušika v okolju lahko posredno sklepamo na obremenjevanje talne vode z nitriti, kar dokazujejo tudi analize kakovosti voda.
