The same drugs can lead to development of serious cardiac side effects, especially the syndrome of heart failure. Anthracycline drugs are best known for their cardiotoxicity, the role of otherdrugs is less well understood. Conclusions Predisposing factors to cardiotoxicity should be taken into consideration when dealing with such pacients. Careful history, clinical examination, electrocardiography, echocardiography and NT-proBNP measurement should be performed prior and at the end of the treatment with cardiotoxic drugs.
