During the whole history of the Church, spiritual ecclesiastical movements have contained a globalization charge since they very quickly spread all over the world and globalized it in a positive manner. More recent ecclesiastical movements, which are a gift to the present Church and the present humanity, should play an important role in the modern world concerning evangelization, ecumenism, dialogue and humanization and help to build a civilization of love. The Plenary Council of the Church in Slovenia evaluated the ecclesiastical movements and indicated the criteria they must consider if they want to contribute to the mission of the Church. Recent ecclesiastical movements, mostly encompassing the laity, are a hope for the Church at the beginning of the new millenium. In the same way as the former ecclesiastical movements played a positive globalization role in the history of the Chuch and of the humanity, the present, old and new, ecclesiastical movements, which are a gift of the Holy Spirit to the Church and to the whole humanity, mean a new hope for the Church and the humanityRazprava poudarja, da sta institucionalna in karizmatična razsežnost Cerkve sobistveni (co-essenziali) in komplementarni. Duhovna eklezialna gibanja so v vsej zgodovini Cerkve imela globalizacijski naboj, saj so se zelo hitro širila po vsem svetu in svet pozitivno globalizirala. Novejša eklezialna gibanja, ki so dar današnji Cerkvi in današnjemu človeštvu, bi naj odigrala v sodobnem svetu pomembno evangelizacijsko, ekumensko, dialoško in humanizirajočo vlogo pri graditvi civilizacije ljubezni. Plenarni zbor Cerkve na Slovenskem je eklezialna gibanja ovrednotil in nakazal merila, ki jih morajo upoštevati, če želijo prispevati svoj delež k poslanstvu Cerkve. Današnja eklezialna gibanja, ki so povečini laiška, so upanje za Cerkev v začetku novega tisočletja.
