It first shows that, until the end of the 20th century, Valvasor was the only one to preserve some knowledge of his works for the intellectual public in Slovenia and Germany. It then describes the history of Wützenstein's family in Carniola and reconstructs his life from his birth in Ljubljana to his death in the Lebek Castle near Vače. Finally, it describes his works: Vulcani Liebes-Garn (1669), which is a translation of the novel La rete di Vulcano by Ferrante Pallavicino; the novel Schicksel der lieben Bellimire und Corilanders (1671), which is either an original or translated work; and La perfetta maritata oder die vollkommene Vermählte (1687), which is a translation of the manual La perfecta casada by Luis de León. Najprej pokaže, kako se je védenje o njegovih delih tako v slovenskem kakor v nemškem prostoru dolgo časa ohranjalo samo po Valvasorjevi zaslugi. V nadaljevanju opiše zgodovino Wützensteinove družine na Kranjskem in rekonstruira njegovo življenje od rojstva v Ljubljani do smrti na gradu Lebek pri Vačah.
