For scientific texts, the Latin rhetoric tradition recommended the so called pluralis modestiae or pluralis auctoris asan appropriate linguistic means of self-presentation of the writer, conveying his modest and non-imposing approach to the reader. Whereas in the English academic setting this habit has been abandoned in favor of the more responsible \"I\" presentation, writers of Slavic linguistic and cultural background still adhere to the \"we\" textual self. The paper focuses on the function of the we-perspective in Czech and Slovak scientific texts and distinguishes between their ideational, interactional and textual functions"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Članek obravnava vprašanje, kako se znanstveni pisci predstavijo občinstvu, pri čemer se osredotoča na vloge oblik samoomembe v češkem in slovaškem znanstvenem pisanju. V znanstvenih besedilih je latinska retorična tradicija priporočala tako imenovano pluralis modestiae ali pluralis auctoris kot primerni jezikovni sredstvi samopredstavitve avtorja, saj naj bi izražali avtorjevo skromnost in nevsiljivost pri stiku z bralcem. V angleškem akademskem okolju so pisci to navado opustili in prevzeli bolj odgovorno predstavitev v 1. osebi ednine, \"jaz\", pisci slovanskega jezikovnega in kulturnega okolja pa še vedno uporabljajo besedilni subjekt v 1. osebi množine, \"mi\".
