From the quantity point of view its activity is quite comparalbe with the average number of acts passed by other parliaments, namely around 100. Yet the quality of the acts it has adopted is less satisying. Too many amending statutes and laws are adopted trough a necessary and summary procedure.The deputies themselves were self-critical in an evaluation they made trough a questionnaire at the end of the four-year mandate (2004-2008). From subjective and objective points of view, the main part of the Slovenian parliament's competence after 2004 relates to membership in the European Union. The deputies are involved in the European legislative procedure trough a special committee to which they send their statements. On the other side, a very big part of the legislature depends on the implementation of European directives in the Slovenian legal system"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V Republiki Sloveniji je edini zakonodajalec Državni zbor. Količinski vidik njegove dejavnosti je povsem primerljiv s povprečnim številom zakonov, ki jih letno sprejemajo parlamenti, to je okrog sto. Manj zadovoljiv je kakovostni vidik slovenske zakonodaje, saj je v slovenskem pravnem sistemu mnogo preveč zakonskih novel in zakonov, ki se sprejemajo po izjemnih nujnih in skrajšanih zakonodajnih postopkih. Prikazano stanje so samokritično ocenili tudi poslanci v anketnem povpraševanju ob koncu njihovega štiriletnega mandata (2004-2008). Subjektivni pogledi konkretnih zakonodajalcev odražajo stanje pravne zavesti v nacionalnem predstavniškem telesu. Tako s subjektivnega kot z objektivnega vidika je znaten del zakonodajne pristojnosti Državnega zbora po letu 2004 pogojen s članstvom Slovenije v Evropski uniji. Narava zakonodajnega dela poslancev se je zato precej spremenila. Na eni strani poslanci Državnega zbora sodelujejo pri sprejemanju evropske zakonodaje s svojimi stališči in mnenji do predlogov evropskih uredb in direktiv, ki jih posredujejo vladi predvsem preko Odbora za zadeve Evropske unije.
