In June 2022, this legacy arrived in Ljubljana in several boxes containing the composer’s documents, correspondence, photo archive, sound library, sheet music and some personal and technical items. The most interesting part of the composer’s Parisian legacy is represented by his correspondence, which is dominated by letters written to Matičič by family members, but also by intimate friends and fellow musicians. From these letters, it was possible to extract new details about the composer’s daily life in Paris. The letters also shed fresh light on why the composer stayed in Paris for several decades instead of the planned three months. The insights into the composer’s personality could be linked to some of his central aesthetic and compositional-technical characteristics</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Po smrti skladatelja Janeza Matičiča (1926–2022) je del njegove zapuščine ostal tudi v njegovem pariškem stanovanju. Ta zapuščina zaobsega skladateljeve dokumente, korespon-denco, arhiv fotografij, fonoteko, notni material in nekaj osebnih ter tehničnih predmetov. Najzanimivejši del gotovo predstavlja korespondenca, v kateri prevladujejo pisma, ki so jih skladatelju pisali člani družine, nato pa tudi intimni prijatelji in glasbeniški sopotniki. Iz teh pisem je bilo mogoče izluščiti nekatere nove podrobnosti o skladateljevem pariškem vsakdanu in tudi nekaj novih razlogov, zakaj je skladatelj namesto treh mesecev v Parizu ostal nekaj desetletij.
