This procedure reduces iatrogenic morbidity. The article gives the description of the procedure and techniques applied. The sentinel node biopsy could become standard treatment method in patients with a melanoma of more than 1 mm in depthOdstranitev varovalne bezgavke (sentinel node) pri bolnikih z malignim melanomom je novejši diagnostični postopek, pri katerem na osnovi ene same odstranjene bezgavke sklepamo o prizadetosti drugih v istem bezgavčnem bazenu.Postopek omogoča zmanjševanje iatrogene morbiditete. Opisana sta postopek in tehnika.
