Although at first sight the works of the aforementioned authors appear to be depictions of past events with a great degree of subjectivity, and could therefore be considered literary memoirs, the Cooperative Online Bibliographic System and Services (COBISS) and the Slovenian Current Research Information System (SICRIS) databases tend to label them as specialist or scientific monographs. The present paper analyses and discusses the core characteristics of Rupel%s Slovenija na svetovnem prizorišču and suggests possible solutions to the dilemma of whether it is best to classify it within the literary or semi-literary genre"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Med številne monografske publikacije, ki so jih v zadnjih dveh desetletjih izdali vidnejši slovenski diplomati (npr. Andrej Capuder in Milan Jazbec) in politiki (npr. Janez Drnovšek, Viktor Žakelj in Janez Janša), sodi tudi delo Dimitrija Rupla Slovenija na svetovnem prizorišču, ki je izšlo leta 2011. Čeprav se na prvi pogled zdi, da gre pri pisanju omenjenih avtorjev za vrednotenje preteklih dogodkov z močnim subjektivnih pridihom, kar bi lahko uvrstili med memoarsko leposlovje, pa vzajemna knjižnična baza podatkov Cobiss ter informacijska baza Sicris omenjena dela pogosto razvrščata med strokovne ali znanstvene monografije.
