Daleč najbolj moteč je prometni hrup, s katerim je preobremenjenih preko 30 % prebivalcev. Pri obsežno zasnovani raziskavi na primeru Ljubljane smo ugotovili, da hrup nasploh močno moti kar 36 % ljudi, le slabe četrtine pa hrup v bivalnem okolju ne moti.
