The article sheds light on the importance of research into children's relationships with juvenile literature in the undergraduate education of future teachers as a way of improving reading culture and literacy in the child's pre-school and school phases. The author bases her argument on the communicative role of juvenile literature and the reception capacity of younger children. In the research carried out by undergraduates she emphasises the use of literary studies findings relating to juvenile literature genres, particularly fairytales (V. Propp, A. Goljevšček, M. Kobe) and picture books (M. Nikolajeva, M. Avguštin), and consideration of the reception processes of the young recipient (W. Iser, H. R. Jauss, M. Kordigel). This means a starting-point for the stimulation of the process by which the child makes sense of textual and artistic worlds, as outlined by literary teaching models aimed at a convergence of quality literary productionfor children in an age of relentless pressure from trivial juvenile literature and modern media. The aim of the undergraduate research summarisedin the article is to show how the testing of new theoretical starting-points from both pedagogical/psychological and subject spheres in an authentic learning environment opens the way to finding new knowledge that facilitates successful work with children"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Začetni študij za pedagoške poklice omogoča akademsko izobrazbo in poklicno kvalifikacijo; v visokošolskem študiju so poudarjene profesionalne kompetence za opravljanje pedagoških poklicev v sodobni družbi, kot sta obvladovanje procesov v vzgoji in izobraževanju ter poglobljeno poznavanje specifičnega (predmetnega) področja. Članek osvetljuje pomen raziskovanja dialoga današnjihotrok z mladinsko književnostjo v dodiplomskem izobraževanju študentk, bodočih vzgojiteljic in učiteljic, za dvig bralne kulture in pismenosti v otrokovem predšolskem in šolskem obdobju. Pri tem se opira na komunikacijsko vlogo mladinske književnost in recepcijsko zmožnost mlajših otrok. V raziskavah študentk poudari uporabo literarnovednih izsledkov žanrov mladinske književnosti, predvsem pravljice (V. Propp, A. Goljevšček, M. Kobe) in slikanice (M. Nikolajeva, M. Avguštin) ter upoštevanje recepcijskih procesov mladega sprejemnika (W. Iser, H. R. Jauss, M. Kordigel). Navedeno pomeni izhodišče za spodbujanje otrokovega opomenjanja besedilnih in likovnih svetov, ki ga začrtujejo književnodidaktični modeli, namenjeni zbliževanju kvalitetne literarne produkcije za otroke v času nezadržnega pritiska trivialne mladinske književnosti in sodobnih medijev.
