We studied nineteen children aged ?$5.3 \\pm 0.2$?, of which 9 boys and 10 girls. Six were leftfooted. Four foot positions (feet together, feet apart, tandem, step) and two visual conditions (eyes open, eyes closed) were tested during a 60-second quiet stance. Lateral preference was considered. We used Parotec foot insoles to measure various centre of pressure variables. The data was exported to an Excel spreadsheet file where chosen variables were calculated. The differences in foot positions and visual conditions were identified through variance analysis, while the differences between dominant and non-dominant foot were tested with the use of paired t-test. The results showed that children on average load their non-dominant foot more than their dominant one. The dominant foot utilized more corrections to enable stability of the body than the non-dominant foot, which can be seen from the longer path of the centre of pressure of the dominant foot in comparison to the non-dominant foot. In most of the cases, children used their non-dominant foot to bear the weight and their dominant foot for postural control during quiet stance. We also discovered that the reduction of the base of support in the lateral direction significantly decreased children's stability"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Namen naše raziskave je bil preveriti, kako lateralna preferenca, odsotnost vidnih informacij in različni položaji stoje vplivajo na stabilnost stoje oporno na obeh nogah pri petletnih otrocih. V meritve smo vključili devetnajst ?$5,3 \\pm 0,2$? leta starih otrok, 9 dečkov in 10 deklic. Šest od teh je imelo dominantno levo nogo. Stojo oporno so merjenci izvajali 60 sekund v štirih različnih položajih stopal (snožno, razkoračno, merno in predkoračno razkoračno) ter dveh različnih vidnih pogojih (oči odprte, oči zaprte). Med meritvami smo upoštevali dominantnost nog. Za izračun različnih spremenljivk središča pritiska smo uporabili stopalne vložke Parotec. Pridobljene podatke smo prenesli v program Excel in izračunali izbrane spremenljivke. Za ugotavljanje razlik med različnimi položaji stopal in vidnimi informacijami smo uporabili analizo variance. Razlike med dominantnim in nedominantnim stopalom smo ugotavljali s pomočjo parnega t-testa. Rezultati so pokazali, da so otroci v vseh položajih razen v položaju stoje snožno v povprečju bolj obremenjevali nedominantno kot dominantno nogo. Dominantna noga je opravila več korekcij ravnotežnega položaja kot nedominantna, to je vidno iz daljše poti centra pritiska dominantne noge v primerjavi z nedominantno nogo. V večini primerov so otroci uporabljali nedominantno nogo za premagovanje teže, dominantno pa za uravnavanje ravnotežnega položaja.
