We focused on short-term memory and metamemory. Participants in our study were children at the age of four and six years. We ascertained that there are diff erences in capacity of short-term memory between children of the examined age groups. Older children have a higher memory span for all kinds of material we applied. Th ey are able to remember alarger amount of information than younger children. Th ere are also diff erences in metamemory. In the fi eld of metamemory we assessed declarative andprocedural metamemory knowledge. Th e survey of the results indicates that older children know more about declarative metamemory than younger children. Th e task of memory-monitoring showed that all children overestimate their memory performance. Only older children take into consideration the feedback about their actual performance. We examined also the correlation between short-term memory and metamemory and the results show that metamemory knowledge is advantageous for short-term retention</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">V prispevku smo se ukvarjali z razlikami v nekaterih spominskih sposobnostih pri otrocih v zgodnjem otroštvu. Ugotovili smo še, da metaspominsko znanje otrokom koristi tudi pri kratkoročni zapomnitvi dražljajev</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-FWJW3PR3"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-FWJW3PR3" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-FWJW3PR3/d428b6a8-145e-4a3a-b4be-6ed108185449/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Slovensko društvo raziskovalcev šolskega polja</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-FWJW3PR3/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-FWJW3PR3" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
