The virus is distributed worldwide. HBoV is detected in children with respiratory tract infection in children with acute gastroenteritis, it has also been reported inimmunocompromised patients and in asymptomatic control groups. HBoV DNA was detected in respiratory samples as well as in stool samples, blood and urine. This article reports on HBoV, including biology and taxonomy, epidemiology, clinical presentations and laboratory diagnostics of HBoV.
