The obtained results show relatively high discrepancy. The Hudson method requires elements of almost twice the weight of those calculated using the Irribaren method, and the difference in maximum wave resistance is between 20 and 30%. Compared to the Hudosn method, the duration of storms causing 5, 20 and 30% damage to rock armour designed using the Iribarren method is two-fold lower for the trunk and almost an order of magnitude lower for the head of the rock armour. We suggest that the designers choose a method upon thoughtful consideration of the structure's purpose and importance, and of potential damage due to the structure's either partial or complete collapse</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">V raziskavi med seboj primerjamo metode Iribarren, Hudson in Van der Meer za dimenzioniranje skalometov in nasutih valobranov za zaščito morske obale na podlagi izmišljenih, a verjetnih parametrov valovanja. Odstopanja med rezultati so razmeroma velika. Metoda Hudson pri enakih valovih za stabilnost zahteva približno dvakrat težje elemente od metode Iribarren, razlika v najvišjem valu, ki ga prenesejo kamni enake teže, pa znaša 20%30 %. Trajanje valov, ki povzročajo 5, 20 in 30 % poškodbe na skalometih, dimenzioniranih po metodi Iribarren, je dvakrat manjše kot po metodi Hudson za telo skalometa in skoraj za red velikosti manjše od trajanja nevihte, ki jo prenese glava skalometa.
