Although Slovenia is a leading member of the CEFTA, it hardly attains members of European union. The Slovenian GDP growth rate exceeds the average rate of EU members (2,9% in 1998). However, the real extent of Slovenian GDP and the starting level should be taken into account as well. The bussines conditions of Slovenian companies producing energy are quite different from those of EU members. The conditions are significantly worse and more regulated by the state, being a main owner of these companies. The author presents necessary measures, needed to adopt in order to equalize the bussines conditions in Slovenia with those of the EU members"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Slovensko gospodarstvo je v letu 1998 skoraj v celoti prebolelo šok po krčenju domačega trga za več kot tri četrtine. Kljub temu da je Slovenija vodilna v skupini CEFTA, dosega najmanj razvite članice EU zgolj, če se postavi na prste. Stopnja rasti slovenskega BDP presega povprečno stopnjo rasti članic EU (2,9 % v 1998), vendar pa je potrebno upoštevati realni obseg slovenskega BDP in izhodiščno raven. Pogoji poslovanja slovenskih elektroenergetskih podjetij se znatno razlikujejo od tistih v državah EU. Pogoji so občutno slabši in bistveno boj regulirani s strani države, ki je pretežna lastnica podjetij.
