Glazing without frames implies that the load-bearing function of the glazing frame is taken over by special supportive structures. Glass panes can be fixed onto a peripheral structure, nodal construction or nodal fixtures on the supportive structure. Glazing with frames implies that the load of the glass pane and other burdens (wind, earthquakes) are taken over by the frame. Concerning construction or image of the frame, glazing can be simple, semi-structural or structural. Two additional categories stem from load-bearing capacities: glazing with enlarged profiles and glazing with special supportive structures. In the article, glazing systems are structured into a simple system. Particular types of glazing, their characteristics, as well as advantages and weaknesses, are dealt with in detailZasteklitvene sisteme je mogoče razdeliti v dve skupini: zasteklitev brez okvirja in zasteklitev z okvirjem. Pri zasteklitvi brez okvirja nosilno funkcijo zasteklitvenega okvirja prevzame posebna podporna konstrukcija. Steklene plošče so lahko pritrjene v obodno konstrukcijo, točkovno sestavljene ali točkovno pritrjene na podporno konstrukcijo. Pri zasteklitvi z okvirjem težo steklene plošče in druge obrementive (veter, potres) prevzame okvir. Glede na izvedbo okvirja in videza so zasteklitve lahko enostavne, polstrukturne in strukturne. Glede na nosilnost ločimo dodatni dve kategoriji: zasteklitev s povečanimi profili in zasteklitev s posebno podporno konstrukcijo. V članku so zasteklitveni sistemi sistemizirani v pregledne sisteme.
