Obesity, anorexia and bulimia are typical civilisation diseases ordiseases of unhealthy living. They affect mainly white women in their childhood and adolescence. Occurrence of these diseases is getting higher alsoin Slovenia. Changes inside the oral cavity of a bulimic patient may be detected during a routine clinical examination. This places dental professionals in a position to be among the first to detect bulimia which is usually characterized by episodes of purging behaviors such as self-induced vomiting. Such vomiting brings stomach acids in contact with the mouth and teeth, causing erosion of tooth enamel which often leads to severely decayed teeth. Methods. This study presents a case of successful treatment of oral symptoms and dental rehabilitation in female patient with bulimia. Conclusions. Dental rehabilitation for bulimic patients is more than just a substituting of their bad and lost teeth. It is actually the first step towardtheir regained self-respect. Therefore it is important for the dentist to be familiar with the clinical symptoms of these diseases that can be revealed in oral cavity to efficiently contribute to a patientrehabilitation"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Izhodišča. Debelost, anoreksija in bulimija so tipične civilizacijske bolezni oziroma bolezni nezdravega načina življenja. Prizadenejo predvsem belopolte ženske v otroštvu in mladostništvu. Pojavnost teh duševnih motenj tudi v Sloveniji narašča. Pri kliničnem pregledu ustne votline in dovolj natančni anamnezi lahko zobozdravnikprvi odkrije simptome teh bolezenskih stanj. Pri bulimiji lahko vidimo veliko karioznega zobovja in zaradi bruhanja nastalih erozij na zobeh. Bolniki in metode. Prikazan je primer uspešnega zdravljenja bolezenskih simptomov v ustni votlini in stomatoprotetične rehabilitacije pri bolnici z bulimijo. Zaključki. Stomatoprotetična rehabilitacija je za te bolnike več kot samo nadomestitev in popravilo okvarjenih in izgubjenih zob. Je prvi korak k povrnitvi njihovega samospoštovanja. Pomembna naloga zobozdravnika pa je tudi, da pozna klinične znake teh bolezni, ki se lahko odkrijejo v ustni votlini, saj lahko s tem pomaga pri rehabilitaciji"}],"edm:type":"TEXT","dc:type":[{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"znanstveno časopisje"},{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"journals"},{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785"}]},"ore:Aggregation":{"@rdf:about":"http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-PJNSHQLW","edm:aggregatedCHO":{"@rdf:resource":"URN:NBN:SI:doc-PJNSHQLW"},"edm:isShownBy":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-PJNSHQLW/3239e45d-e6dd-4d51-b9de-8605360bb5ab/PDF"},"edm:rights":{"@rdf:resource":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/"},"edm:provider":"Slovenian National E-content Aggregator","edm:intermediateProvider":{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"National and University Library of Slovenia"},"edm:dataProvider":{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Slovensko zdravniško društvo"},"edm:object":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-PJNSHQLW/maxi/edm"},"edm:isShownAt":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-PJNSHQLW"}}}}
