Travelogues were popular reading, published mainly in periodicals, but also in book form as travel diaries. A shift from facts and description in travelogues towards belles-lettres leads to a distinction between journal travel writing and fiction (the travelogue novel). Slovenian writers relate their journeys to the Balkans and to the Slavic idea, emphasising cultural and linguistic closeness. The differences in ethnic and religious denominations become a source of stereotypes that are seldom overcome. In Slovenian travelogues, Belgrade does not represent a final destination, but is merely a stop-off during travels to the Balkans or the Orient. The paper mainly discusses Anton Aškerc's travelogue Izlet v Carigrad (A Trip to Istanbul, 1893) as well as the work of four other authors: L. Stiasny, Ivan Knific, Josip Lavtižar and Marica Gregorič</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Potopisni žanr se v začetku dvajsetega stoletja modificira v estetskem in ideološkem smislu. V prispevku so poleg Aškerčevega potopisa Izlet v Carigrad (1893) obravnavani še potopisi Ljudevita Stiasnyja, Ivana Knifica, Josipa Lavtižarja in Marice Gregorič</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-QYRZALHC"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-QYRZALHC" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-QYRZALHC/e0883cd8-b0e7-468e-b1eb-257e44426eb1/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Slavistično društvo Slovenije</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-QYRZALHC/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-QYRZALHC" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
