The starting point is a two-clause sentence, and the clause order is examined in relation to the position of the conjunction clause, that is, the clause in which the conjunction is or could be. There are four possible clause orders: the conjunction clause stands before the non-conjunction clause, the conjunction clause is embedded within the non-conjunction clause, the conjunction clause follows the non-conjunction clause, and the non-conjunction clause divides the conjunction clausePrispevek se ukvarja z vrstnim redom stavkov v slovenski večstavčni povedi: proučuje možne vrstne rede stavkov in njihove omejitve za posamezna razmerja. Izhodišče predstavlja dvostavčna poved, vrstni red pa proučujemo glede na položaj vezniškega stavka, to je stavka, v katerem veznik je ali bi lahko bil.
