Data were collected via online questionnaires, which measured aspects of parenting, i.e. responsiveness/support, behavioural control (expected behaviour and behaviour monitoring), psychological control and autonomy support, including life satisfaction in both students and their parents. Predictive relations of the study variables significantly (modestly to moderately) predict the aspects of students' life satisfaction, whereas the prediction of satisfaction with their family, based on parental life satisfaction and mothering, was strong. Among the single predictors, parental satisfaction with life, student-perceived parental responsiveness/support, and low level of psychological control, significantly contributed to the students' life satisfaction"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V raziskavi, v kateri je sodelovalo 182 študentov (52,2 % žensk) prvega letnika različnih univerzitetnih programov in njihovi starši (N =169; 75,3 % mam), smo preučile vlogo življenjskega zadovoljstva staršev in starševskega vedenja v splošnem zadovoljstvu z življenjem ter zadovoljstvu s prijatelji/ družabnim življenjem, z družino in s samim seboj pri mladih na prehodu v odraslost. Podatke smo pridobile s spletnimi vprašalniki, ki so merili vidike starševstva, tj. odzivnost, nadzor vedenja (pričakovano vedenje in spremljanje vedenja), psihološki nadzor in podporo avtonomiji ter zadovoljstvo z življenjem pri študentih in njihovih starših. Obravnavane spremenljivke pomembno (nizko do zmerno visoko) napovedujejo vidike zadovoljstva mladih, močna pa je napoved zadovoljstva z družino na podlagi ocen zadovoljstva z življenjem pri starših in materinstva.
