The balance was based on data gained from forms \"Registration of the size of exploration and extraction area - situation on 31 December 2002\". The Commission has not produced any such balance before, although a need for such information has appeared in the past already. From the documents stored in thearchives of the Geological Survey of Slovenia and the Commission it can be clearly seen that data on exploration and extraction areas for single types ofmineral resources were collected, but were not complete in a sense of physical size and actual states in single time periods of collecting and processing those data. From the balance of existing exploration, extraction and potential areas of all types of mineral resources in the Republic of Slovenia, situation on 31 December 2002, it can be summarized that they include 2.877 km2, which is about 14,2 % of the entire Slovenian territory"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V letu 2003 je Republiška komisija za ugotavljanje rezerv rudnin in talnih voda, Ljubljana (skrajšano: Komisija) prvič zbrala podatke in izdelala bilancopovršin za raziskovalne, pridobivalne in potencialne prostore mineralnih surovin v Republiki Sloveniji, s stanjem 31.12.2002. Osnova za izdelavo navedene bilance so bili podatki iz \"Obrazca za priglasitev osnove velikosti raziskovalnega in pridobivalnega prostora - stanje 31.12.2002\". Navedena Komisija doslej še ni izdelala takšne bilance, čeprav so v preteklosti že obstojale potrebe po tako zbranih podatkih. Iz arhivske dokumentacije Geološkega zavoda Slovenije, Ljubljana in Komisije ugotavljamo, da so bili v preteklih obdobjih sicer zbrani podatki za površine raziskovalnihin pridobivalnih prostorov posameznih vrst mineralnih surovin, vendar podatki niso bili celoviti po fizičnem obsegu oziroma po dejanskih stanjih v posameznih obdobjih zbiranja in obdelave teh podatkov.
