Their social behaviour in school with adjusted curricula was reported by teachers. The data collected were compared to the characteristics of socialbehaviour in the Slovenian standardization sample of younger normative children. In comparison to the latter, the MMD students were assessed to exhibit poorly adjusted behaviours more frequently across all of the domains under investigation. Accordingly, significantly more MMD students expressed problems in the development of social competence and general adaptation as well as more internalizing and externalizing problems. At a level of marginal significance, socially adaptive behaviour slightly increased with the age of the MMD students, while gender differences were larger than those obtained in normative children. However, the differences with both samples appeared in thesame direction. The female students were mainly perceived to be considerably more prosocial, socially competent and generally adjusted in comparison to their male counterparts. The male MMD students also exhibited problems in each of the domains of social behaviour at least twice as frequently than the younger normative boys and the MMD female students. The implications of these findings for both future research and practices of developmental intervention with MMD children and adolescents are discussed"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V prispevku prikazujeva rezultate raziskave, v kateri sva s pomočjo Vprašalnika socialnega vedenja otrok (LaFreniere idr., 2001) preučevali socialno vedenje učencev (N = 84) z lažjo motnjo v duševnem razvoju (LMDR). O njihovem vedenju v šoli s prilagojenim učnim programom so poročale učiteljice,pridobljene podatke pa sva primerjali z značilnostmi socialnega vedenja pri slovenskem standardizacijskem vzorcu mlajših normativnih otrok. Specifično vedenje učencev z LMDR je bilo na vseh upoštevanih področjih pogosteje manj prilagojeno kot vedenje normativnih otrok. Skladno s tem je tudi značilno več učencev izražalo težave v razvoju socialne kompetentnosti insplošne prilagojenosti ter težave ponotranjenja in pozunanjenja. Na mejni ravni pomembnosti je s starostjo učencev z LMDR prilagojeno vedenje postajalo pogostejše, razlike med spoloma pa so bile večje kot pri mlajših normativnih otrocih, a so se pojavljale v isti smeri. Učenke z LMDR so učiteljice zaznale predvsem kot precej bolj prosocialne, socialno kompetentne in splošno prilagojene v primerjavi z učenci. Pri slednjih je bila tudi izraznost težav na vsakem izmed preučevanih področij vsaj še enkrat tolikšna kot med normativnimi dečki in kot med učenkami z LMDR.
