It transformed by integrating four farmer independent vilages: Stoba, Štude, Upper and Lower Domžale. After joining with the settlements Depala vas and Šentpavel it became a town. The problems and possibilities of designing the town centre of Domžale are not limited to its centre, but are connected to the position of Domžale within the urban conurbation of the Ljubljana metropolitan region. In the case of Domžale intervention in the wider and closer area should be based on complementarity, that increase the potentials of the town and its identity, rather than competitiveness. In the design, planning and execution of redesigning the town centre at least three spatial networks have to be examined beforehand: the road network, the network of public transport and the network of programmes</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Domžale so mesto brez starega mestnega jedra. Preobrazile so se iz štirih samostojnih vasi: Stoba, Štude, Spodnjih in Zgornjih Domžal. Po združitvi z naselji Depala vas in Šentpavel so postale mesto. Problemi in možnosti pri oblikovanju mestnega središča Domžal niso omejeni le na središče, ampak so povezani s položajem Domžal v urbani konurbaciji ljubljanske mestne regije. Intervencije v domžalskem širšem in ožjem prostoru bi morali načrtovati na osnovi komplementarnosti, ki potencial mesta in njegovo identiteto povečuje, ne pa na osnovi konkurenčnosti.
