Janko Kos regards Kraigher as the most outstanding writer among the second generation naturalists, his works containing elemetns of diverse, even opposing aesthetic orientations. Druga generacija se razlikuje od prve z bolj doslednim naturalizmom ter deli večje literarne vrednosti. Za Janka Kosa je Kraigher najizrazitejši naturalist druge generacije, njegovo delo pa kaže elemente različnih, celo nasprotnih estetskih usmeritev. V pričujočem članku bomo poskušali ponazoriti mehanizme nekoliko manj znanega in malo proučevanega Kraigherjevega dela, ki pa ga lahko povsem pripnemo na Kosovo definicijo.
