Children with CNS tumours need an integrated interdisciplinary treatment, including an adequate clinical psychological diagnostics and a comprehensive neurocognitive rehabilitation, which is vital due to very common cognitive and psychosocial consequences of the illness and treatment. It is performed by a clinical psychologist who is a member of the KOOHO team. The psychosocial and neuropsychological monitoring of the child starts already during the treatment, after the treatment is completed (followed by regular monitoring every 2-3 years) or when the parent or the haematooncologist notice some significant changes in the functioning of the child. General intelligence, attention and concentration, memory and learning, speech, perceptual processing, visual- spatial and visual-motor abilities, processing speed, executive functions, school achievements, adaptive skills, emotional and behavioural functioning and the quality of life are assessed. After determining the nature and the severity of the long-term effects of the illness and treatment, the child can be given individual recommendations on measures and adaptations as well as appropriate early neurorehabilitation that plays an important role in the development of independence and autonomy in adulthood. A quality integrated treatment of children with CNS tumours favourably affects patients' survival, reduces the late sequellae of the treatment and enables children and later adults to live their best possible lives in terms of health, education, employment, partnership and family relationships. It is important that children and adolescents with incurable brain tumours begin the interdisciplinary palliative care early in order to maintain their own as well as their relatives' quality of life. This is an active and integrated care for the patients, and assistance to their loved ones both during illness and in the process of mourning"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V Sloveniji v povprečju letno zboli okoli 20 otrok in mladostnikov s tumorjem osrednjega živčne-ga sistema (tumor OŽS), kar predstavlja približno 20 % vseh bolnikov, zdravljenih na Kliničnem oddelku za otroško hematologijo in onkologijo Univerzitetne pediatrične klinike v Ljubljani (KO-OHO). Otroci s tumorjem OŽS potrebujejo celostno interdisciplinarno obravnavo, del katere je tudi ustrezna kliničnopsihološka ocena in celostna nevrokognitivna rehabilitacija, ki je zaradi zelo pogostih kognitivnih in psihosocialnih posledic bolezni ter zdravljenja bistvenega pomena. Izvaja jo klinični psiholog, ki je član stalnega tima KOOHO. Kliničnopsihološko in nevropsihološko spremljanje otroka se prične že med samim zdravljenjem, po zaključenem zdravljenju, nato pa sledi redno spremljanje na 2 - 3 leta oziroma ob opozorilu staršev ali lečečega pediatra onkologa na pomembne spremembe pri delovanju otroka. Ocenjujemo splošno inteligentnost (IQ), pozornost in koncentracijo, spomin in učenje, govor in jezik, zaznavno obdelavo, vidno-gibalno integracijo, hitrost obdelave podatkov, izvršilne funkcije, šolske dosežke, prilagoditvene spretnosti, čustvovanje, vedenje in kakovost življenja. S prepoznavanjem vrste in resnosti dolgoročnih posledic bolezni in zdravljenja lahko otroku ali mladostniku nudimo individualna priporočila za ukrepe in prilagoditve ter ustrezno zgodnjo nevrorehabilitacijo, ki igra pomembno vlogo pri razvoju neodvisnosti in avtonomnosti v odrasli dobi. Kakovostna celostna obravnava otrok s tumorjem OŽS vpliva na preživetje bolnikov, zmanjšuje pozne posledice zdravljenja in omogoča otrokom in kasneje odraslim čim boljšo kakovost življenja na področju zdravja, izobraževanja, zaposlitve, partnerskih in družinskih odnosov. Pri otrocih in mladostnikih z neozdravljivim možganskim tumorjem pa je pomembna zgodnja vključitev v interdisciplinarno paliativno oskrbo z namenom vzdrževati optimalno kakovost življenja bolnika in svojcev v dani situaciji. Gre za aktivno, celostno oskrbo bolnikov ter pomoč njihovim bližnjim tako v času bolezni kot tudi v procesu žalovanja"}],"edm:type":"TEXT","dc:type":[{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"znanstveno časopisje"},{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"journals"},{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785"}]},"ore:Aggregation":{"@rdf:about":"http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-UHC8SQC5","edm:aggregatedCHO":{"@rdf:resource":"URN:NBN:SI:doc-UHC8SQC5"},"edm:isShownBy":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-UHC8SQC5/c0bf8373-6913-43a6-b242-87253ffe0ea6/PDF"},"edm:rights":{"@rdf:resource":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/"},"edm:provider":"Slovenian National E-content Aggregator","edm:intermediateProvider":{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"National and University Library of Slovenia"},"edm:dataProvider":{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Slovensko zdravniško društvo"},"edm:object":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-UHC8SQC5/maxi/edm"},"edm:isShownAt":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-UHC8SQC5"}}}}
