The study was based in the social representation theory, and studied the characteristic attitudes, social perception and behaviour in the domain of education that focused on the prescribed priorities of knowledge declared in the knowledge society, e.g. priorities of a) applicable knowledge vs. basic, b) competencies vs. knowledge, and c) the central position of knowledge in the society. The study was conducted on the representative samples of high-school and university students in Slovenia. The differences in the perception of knowledge amongst students enrolled in various educational programs, and with different grades, gender, and SES were analysed. The results show that all of the three social priorities in the value of knowledge are at least partly incorporated in the youth perception of knowledge. More differences in the attitudes, perceptions and behaviour are related to the school program than to the grades, gender and SES in high-school and university students"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V študiji smo preučevali, ali se v vrednotenju znanja med dijaki in študenti odražajo družbene spremembe prioritet v vrednotenju znanja na področju izobraževanja, ki jih uvaja koncept družbe znanja . Raziskovanje smo oprli na teorijo socialnih predstav in preučevali značilnosti stališč, socialnih zaznav in vedenja na področju izobraževanja, osredotočenih na pripisovanje prioritet znanju, deklariranih v družbi znanja, tj. prioritete a) uporabnim znanjem vs. temeljnim, b) kompetencam vs. znanju ter c) osrednje pozicije znanja v družbi. Raziskavo smo izvedli na reprezentativnih vzorcih dijakov in študentov v Sloveniji. Preverjali smo, ali se odnos do znanja razlikuje med mladimi, ki obiskujejo različne izobraževalne programe, imajo različen učni uspeh, spol in socialnoekonomski položaj. Rezultati v splošnem kažejo, da so vse tri družbene prioritete v vrednotenju znanja vsaj deloma inkorporirane v odnos mladih do znanja.
