In Euripides' Alcestis bed represents the place of exchange of material and symbolic values. The system of reversals of gender roles is materialized in the bed and allows both Alcestis and Admetus to transgress the traditional gender roles. Admetus has to recover his sovereignty and authority in oikos and in polis though ! Alcestis' bed, whereas with her death in bed Alcestis surpasses the traditional feminine role, obtaining kleos in poems and an inscription on her grave"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Postelja se v grškem imaginariju izpisuje kot podoba, ki je neposredno povezana z različnimi institucijami in s konceptom ženskega. V Evripidovi Alkestidi postelja predstavlja mesto menjave materialnih in simbolnih vrednot. Sistem inverzije moškega in ženskega je materializiran v postelji in omogoča tako Alkestidi kot Admetu, da prestopita tradicionalne meje spolnih vlog.
